Obama’s Civilian National Security Force

The Obama quote is, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

This was slipped into a speech addressing public service, and I’m going to have to confess that I’m dumbfounded. What in the world is he proposing? A non-military security force that is funded the same as the miltary? What are their powers and why are civilians being put in charge of national security? Why shouldn’t we rely on our military to achieve national securiy objective? Isn’t that’s the whole reason for having a military. This needs some serious explaining. Any new government organization comparable in size and funding to the military would need explaining, but a civilian national security force is radical and illogical.

Oil & Technology that Environmentalists Don’t Want You to Know About

It is time to dust off a relevant March 6, 1997 editorial: “World has more oil than far left environmentalists admit.” Did the environmentalist and liberal democrats in Congress think that we would not remember or note that the technology exists to exact more oil from former U.S. wells? No wonder they would also like to control the flow of information on the Internet, talk radio and between elected representatives and their constituents.

Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: Far-left environmentalists claim that the World Oil reserves are running out. However, reported new discoveries, advanced technology and untapped oil reserves (save the caribou program) prove they are again expressing fiction. In a left leaning biased New York Times article the truth “gushes out. the article, Oil Innovations Pump New Life Into Old Wells , revealed that “engineers here started injecting high-pressured steam to pump out more oil. The field, whose production had slumped to 10,000 barrels a day in the 1960s, now has a daily output of 85,000 barrels. In Indonesia, Chevron has applied the same technology to the giant Duri oil field, discovered in 1941, boosting production there to more than 200,000 barrels a day, up from 65,000 barrels in the mid-1980s. … Within the last decade, technology advances have made it possible to unlock more oil from old fields, and, at the same time, higher oil prices have made it economical for companies to go after reserves that are harder to reach. With plenty of oil still left in familiar locations, forecasts that the world’s reserves are drying out have given way to predictions that more oil can be found than ever before.” And this technology can be applied to American oil fileds when the extraction of oil slows down in the Arab oil fields (figure at right).

A BusineesWeek article in 2005 (Is There Plenty Of Oil?) reported:

“The four giant oil fields … located under thousands of feet of water off the coast of Louisiana, are just beginning to pump their first barrels. At their peak rates later in the decade, they’ll produce some 500,000 bbl. per day, an amount akin to floating a small Middle Eastern country such as Syria or Yemen into the Gulf of Mexico. “Add them together, and it’s a massive step change,” says David Eyton, BP’s vice-president for deepwater in the Gulf. “The investment we’re making will more than offset declines we’re seeing in Alaska and the Continental Shelf.”

And we have not even detailed the oil fields where the left-wing don’t want us to drill. Well excuse us and get out of the way!

We Need John McCain’s Presence At This Columbian Event

THE COLUMBIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVAL

This event will be held on Sunday, July 20th at 11:00 AM, at Foschini Park on River St in Hackensack, New Jersey.

I urge John McCain to attend this event in order to demonstrate his concerns for the people of Columbia which we know he has. Rich Varga of John McCain for President Meetup-12 has been coordinating with the help of many, to show the people attending this event that Obama’s inexperience in national and foriegn affairs would be useless to their pleas of help from the United States. John McCain’s strength and experience on the other hand would give them hope.

Who are the Colombians? They’re one of the oldest democracies in South America, and one of the staunchest U.S. allies in the region. In 1810, the country declared it’s independence from Spain and elected Simón Bolívar their first president. When Bolívar stepped down, Francisco de Paula Santander who was vice president, became the second president of Colombia. By 1819, the revolution had been won, and Colombia was free.

In 1830, Venezuela and Ecuador seceded from Colombia. By 1903, Panama (which had been part of Colombia) successfully revolted and was supported by the U.S. because they wished to build the Panama Canal.

Since the 1970s, the nation has been plagued by the powerful and violent drug cartels. They have also been fighting well armed communist insurgents like the FARC, which by the way, has very little popular support.

Hugo Chavez of Venezuel recently threatened Colombia by sending tanks to the border after the Colombians successfully made a cross border raid against these terrorists. Captured in that raid was a lap top computer that provides tangible evidence that Chavez is supporting the narco-terrorists. It also showed that Chavez was hoping for an an Obama victory in the U.S. election.
Just last week, Colombian President Álvaro Uribelaunched a daring raid that freed several Americans who were held hostage since 2002. This coincided withJohn McCain’s trip to the region, as he was promoting free trade and friendship with that beleaguered nation.

John McCain stands for a becan of HOPE for ALL in this nation, and for ALL suffering under oppressive and violent dictatorships across the world. The people of Columbia need to know that John McCain cares as we of this nation know he does. A man of such strength, experience, dignity, and character could not.

May God Bless and be with John McCain, and God Bless and be with the people of Columbia.

Surge Success Leaves Obama Spinning

Barack Obama - “Now, all of us recognize that we must do more than look back - we must make a judgment about how to move forward. What is needed? What can best be done? What must be done? Senator McCain wants to talk of our tactics in Iraq; I want to focus on a new strategy for Iraq and the wider world.”

This is the crux of Obama’s Iraq problem. He doesn’t want to look back, but he has based his campaign on his original statement against the Iraq War; yet he’s shown no particular incite since that initial decision. Senator Obama doesn’t want Senator McCain to discuss tactics because Senator McCain has been tactically correct, while Senator Obama has demonstrated zero understanding of military tactics.

The Obama strategy for months has been to tie Senator McCain to President Bush and the Iraq War. However, this simplistic approach ignores historical realities. Senator McCain bucked his party, and the president, and called for Donald Rumsfeld’s removal as Secretary of Defense. Then he angered people on both sides of the aisle by pushing for the surge/counterinsurgency strategy. Remember it was a Democrat that labeled the surge ‘the McCain Doctrine’ as Source Watch notes,

The “surge” has also been called the McCain doctrine, a label coined by John Edwards to describe a proposed surge in troop levels and escalation of the war in Iraq named after its “chief advocate”, Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.).

Senator McCain did not just sign on to the president’s war strategy; he was one of the leaders that pushed the president to adopt the counterinsurgency strategy. He made a stand that was considered political suicide; he pushed for an unpopular strategy having just seriously criticized the president’s Secretary of Defense.

On the campaign trail he and Senator Biden were the only candidates in either party giving details about Iraq. They voiced their opinion and took questions from frequently skeptical audiences. While their views were different; they both should be commended for directly addressing the most pressing issue of the day in a direct and honest manner.

While progress was slow it did come, and it came due to the counterinsurgency strategy. Some people hesitate to accept this success because they are angry that we even went to war, or are unwilling to accept progress due to their anger at the president and the myriad of mistakes made on his watch. However, this isn’t about the president, or the candidates for that matter. People’s lives hang in the balance; the decisions made by the next president will determine the fate of many people of whom most of us will never know. Like it or not, we are a country at war, and looking forward is incredibly important. Choosing a candidate who understands war, the military, tactics, and strategy is vital. Senator McCain may not be everybody’s first choice, but he fits the bill for commander-in-chief at this particular point in history.

Obama Vs Lee Hamilton on Iraq

All: Please note that Lee Hamilton, who introduced Sen. Obama at his speech in Washington today, disagrees with Sen. Obama on at least two central issues addressed in his speech today.

Specifically, Sen. Obama today denied that Iraq has ever been a “central front in the war on terror,” despite the fact that Hamilton described Iraq as “a central front in the war on terror” in testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee while he was co-chairing the Iraq Study Group.

Further, three months ago in April 2008, Hamilton said he opposes “target dates” for withdrawal in Iraq — something Obama is clearly continuing to embrace today with his 16-month timetable:

McCain C-in-C Test in a Landslide

In the latest ABC poll when people were asked about which candidate would make a good Commander-in-Chief, Senator McCain won in a landslide. 72% believe he would be a good Commander-in-Chief, and only 48% believe Senator Obama would be a good Commander-in-Chief.

What To Do For McCain

Folks have mentioned several times concerns about ‘what they could do?”

We routinely post things on this site and our hundreds of affiliates concerning the numerous projects and things that can be done. We also have special volunteer needs listed on this site and several others….all of varying degrees.

You can also visit the blogs of our hundreds of McCain Victory 08 bloggers to learn how you can help.

Two important things you can do Right NOW…are assist with the Sign drive.

We need signs desperately in all of our battleground states. As many signs and bumperstickers as we can get our hands on. (yes our store will be up and running this week, sorry for the delay . . .but the old store just wasn’t cutting it.)

On the topic of signs…sign ‘parties’ and ‘contests’ are a great way to go. Personal hand-made signs for one always attract more attention . . . folks like the personal touch. So here is a great way to help out. MAKE SIGNS. Draw them, paint them, snag some paper signs from an event and make them into yard signs. Buy them, print them . . . whatever it takes…get as many as you can. Get as many folks as you can to help you. Then distribute them. Shoot out emails to folks to see if they need or want one. Visit folks and simply offer them up. Coordinate your own sign wave and give some away right on the corner.

Also contact Andrea or Jean for more information on what they are doing regarding the “sign drive”. We need to make this HUGE. Currently we are ‘out-signed’ and ‘out-bumper-stickered’ nearly 6-1 . . . that is CRAZY!

Believe it or not signage is an important issue. Let alone the subliminal impact…it is a great morale booster. Just ask the HucksArmy folks about signs. They were limited, they were limited on funds…they got together and made it happen. Sometimes re-using signs………over and over until they wore right out.

Whomever comes up with the best hand-made sign . . . We will send them a $50.00 Gas card. Not only that . . . but however many signs they prove they delivered and or distributed Brad and I will Match that sign for sign and send them to another needy county somewhere in the country!! Send us a picture of your sign. Send us a pic of you making it if you want to be fun, we will make a great lil post about it. Send us a pic of you posting or distributing your signs.

Next up . . . Volunteers. This is key. We have many many great folks helping us out. Brad and I have also been working NON STOP on some fantastic partnerships around the country that should prove to be fantastic. We have also been contacted by several media groups and are getting the word out about all of you folks!

Soon we will post the new leadership up on the site with our State/national etc leaders and directors. Their contact information will be there feel free to contact them on how best to help in your state or region. They will have detailed information.

Our once famous ‘Rapid Fire Team’ , best known for shutting down 4 sites 2 offices and a senate office and helping to increase McCain’s over all online presence by 524% our first month in operation is about to be called back into action. This is not voting in silly polls and other such non-sense. It is targeted and well thought out. Much of the direction coming directly from the campaign.
